Manhattan Engine Company 2 was disbanded after 107 years of service in 1972.

Manhattan hose 2 laying hose at a job at Seventh Avenue in the early 1900's!
Engine 2 received their first MOTORIZED hose wagon, a 1915 Mack with FDNY registration # 102 in the motorized hose wagon series, on January 1, 1916.
Rescue 1 now occupies the former quarters of Engine Company 2.

The Building was burned down when Rescue 1 occupied it, all except the front wall.

When the Fire Department rebuilt it they disassembled the remaining front wall of the old quarters

and reassembled it inside the new quarters at the rear wall!

I haven't seen it yet myself, but I hear that it is beautiful. Go to Rescue 1
