Just wanted to submit these photos to someone who will get it to the members of FDNY that used to ride this piece of apparatus. From the information I have received this engine was from around the Brooklyn area. It was designated as engine 232 and was nicknamed the "TIN MAN". It was being house in a firehouse that was made of tin siding, which of course they nicknamed the "Tin House". If correct I believe that it was just temporary housing at the time. If you could get this photo to those members so they could see how the piece of apparatus looks now and how well maintained it is I would really appreciate it. Also, if you could find out all there is about this engine (call volume, length of service, date of retirement, etc.) it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you take notice to the B&W photo under the engines designation numbers on the side of the engine, we do still have the nickname "TIN MAN" on it. Sincerely, Bill Porter:

Hi Bill,
There was a "Tin House" in East New York Brooklyn once. I remember
being there one day for some reason which I now forget when I was
assigned to Ladder 103. The Tin House was a pre fab building and was a
complete fire house. I don't know why they built it but I don't think it
is there any longer.
I know Ladder 176 was in there with Engine 232. There is no Engine 232
today it was disbanded, by Mayor Ed. Kotch. Engine 233 who is in with<
Ladder 176 at there new location. You can call the Company ( Engine 233
) and ask for the Jack Ginley he is now a member of Engine 233 but still
wares a tie pin and coller numbers of 232,he was one of the origanal
members of Engine 232.
