Ladder 110 was originally organized as Ladder 10 of The Brooklyn Fire Department on August 1, 1891.
It was later reorganized to Ladder 110 on January 1, 1913.
Don,
Could you please post the following message with 110?

My name is John Steuer and my father James Steuer retired from the Department
around 1945 after sustaining a very serious injury on the way to a fire. We
were very close and as the family historian I am trying to find out about
some of his history as a fireman, or I would like to be put in touch with
anyone who might have served with him. I have his old fire hat with 110 on
it. He received two medals for Bravery in 1942. He told me he was once
assigned to a station on Smith street. I think he joined the Department in
the 1930"s. We lived in Brooklyn at the time. He also may have been in
other units. The number 8792 was on the hat I mentioned.
Thanks for trying to help me out.
John Steuer
