Looks to me like a vacant (tinned-up windows on fire escapes. All windows seem broken) that these guys have been to before. Probably a few times. No one is getting too excited. Note: chief standing with hands in pockets. No one looks to eager to pit this piece of s..t out again. If we had this today, we can expect all the obvious dangers they faced twenty five or so years ago when this pic was taken...AND MORE. It is, after all, twenty five years older now, exposed to elements, previous fires, mongoing, etc. I'de look to make it an outside operation and protect exposures. Might just put the aerial up so roofman can get a "look-see" from up top and relay what he sees from the aerial, or, if he feels it is safe to do so, from a quick walk around on the roof. But I wouldn't want him up there long, if at all. Certainly not alone. If an interior attack IS planned, lower floors have got to be checked, including basement for origin of fire. This one seems to have started below and now has gotten a pretty good start in top floor (notice smoke under pressure issuing from tin at top floor on # 4 side.) Also lets not forget rehabs. Today this bldg might be undergoing rehab and have many structural alterations. As for the previous guy who isn't too impressed and wants to put it out with a can: go ahead! Give it a shot! Let's see if a good man with a can CAN put out three floors. (haha)

later fellas
